Thanks to Conni Spiegle for forwarding this obituary from last June for Susan Hoar Ulmer. Susan was a retired Registered Nurse and Nursing Home Administrator. Two of her paintings (a rose and a sunset) are in her Photo Gallery. She is survived by her husband, two sons, and four grandchildren.

Susan was born on February 8, 1948 and passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018. Susan was a resident of Hatfield, Pennsylvania at the time of passing. A native of New Jersey, Sue graduated from Frankford Hospital School of Nursing. Relatives and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1601 Derstine Rd., Hatfield, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Here in Virginia, which I now call home, I've been losing quite a few friends to death lately. And now I get a notice that Susan has died, seemingly of pancreatic cancer. She was a very nice person. Age sees some die and others become (at some level) more isolated. When we talk to people who are younger, they may not be able to relate to many of the things we remember clearly (if we are so fortunate). Susan's death adds to that isolation. -Vince
